Q: 1) How are you sure your religion is right when there are thousands to choose from and you are Christian simply due to birth? Answered! πŸ™‚

I have asked myself this question many times, and have been asked this quite a few time through-out my life, and to be be honest, I would now rather ask why Christianity is not the go-to belief-system, or one which people consider to be good nowadays?

I choose Christianity, because after abandoning God and His Word for a odd number of years, maybe 3, I eventually came back to Him with the willingness to understand. The first thing that needs to be cleared up, is that the God of the bible, the Holy God of Moses and of Israel and the God of our salvation through Jesus Christ, is the God who Followers of Jesus Christ worship.

I used to call myself a Christian but also literally in the same breath I would make it clear that I don’t believe everything in the bible, because I didn’t want to be labeled as something simply because of having a belief which is contrary to that which the modern-day society expects in a political & social hemisphere, which now looking back doesn’t really make sense, because as I later progressed in my walk with Christ since Dec 2020 I came to understand that the Word of God is given to us so that we can get to know God and what His plan is for us and what He expects of us, as well the most important thing which is our Salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, how can I worship a God but know nothing about Him?

Regarding being a Christian due to being born into a Christian household, I used to be Christian because of this, and therefore never really felt encouraged to personally delve into God and the Holy Scripture, in fact I even left my faith for about 3 years, until eventually coming back swinging, as God encountered me and I realized that everything in His Word is true, regardless of what I choose to believe, and how underserving I am of His Love due to my sins and immoral trespasses.

Take a look at what separates Christian teachings from other religions and faiths. It sounds too good to be true, while at the same time teaches that human’s have corrupted their way of living and therefore Biblical teachings and the authors of Scripture acknowledge that none of us are worthy of the grace given to us by God, because of the impending eternal separation from the presence of God caused by sin.

It’s not fun to hear that there are things are against God’s Law, especially if they could be things that are deeply attached to our heart. The bible teaches us that the passions of people’s hearts lead them astray from what God has intended for them, and that the desires of our flesh (which basically means, common desires and temptations that come from our sinful nature) are contrary to that of God’s Spirit (The Holy Spirit), and Scriptures therefore teach us and encourage us to live by the Spirit through reading God’s Word and Jesus’ teachings so that we can learn the desires of the Spirit of God.

I used to be fairly progressive, and I used to believe progressive narratives which seemed good at first but were actually in direct opposition to what Jesus taught and what God’s Word says. Many people, seemingly more now than ever, tend to form their opinions, and beliefs based off of what they read from major outlets, many of which are government-owned, or the case of them being non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) – the chances are that they are probably politically-biased. I always feared to say that I am a Christian, because of the labels that have been attached to it by the pressure of today’s societal standards.

Where in any other religion have you seen a God who is truly never-changing and consistent in His Will, where else have you seen a God so loving that He sent His only begotten Son to die, that He humbled Himself a| to the point where He allowed Himself to be killed and slain as a final sacrificial-offering, by His own creation. Which other religion aims to redirect your consciousness towards God, allowing to go from self-love to selfless-love. From loving yourself to loving God. Do you think it is fair for the creation to reject the Creator simply for the reason of not knowing it’s purpose?
a| Philippians 2:8

It is also important to remember that God is not subject to our beliefs, and He doesn’t change based-off of what we choose to believe about Him or not, or even the fact that we believe in Him or not. Be encouraged by this, because when you trust in Jesus Christ as Lord then God will change your heart instead. Don’t get stuck up in a cycle of disappointment and frustration by thinking that doing good things and being a good person will grant you comfort, because by doing this we tend to get distracted and end up losing sight of the fact that our salvation was a gift by God’s grace, and not a reward which we deserved, because as we are taught that what we deserve isn’t as desirable as we thought. To be clear, what I’m stating is that God doesn’t change b2|, and neither will He, because it comes down to the fact that He knows what’s best and that His statutes and standards are above all; and instead He changes us and our heart’s desires, through Jesus’ sacrifice and by us believing in what He has done for us by His saving grace. It’s never to late, and you are never too from God as to the point where there’s no return, but rather He is still waiting with the open arms of a loving and trustworthy Father, telling His children to come to Him.
b2| Malachi 3: 6
